Inspiring and life-changing

Elmedina Nuka, Biology student from the University of Pristina, Kosovo, believes that SymBioSE can broaden your horizons and bring new perspectives to your mindset. She shares her impressions of SymBioSE-2018 in Croatia:

Last year’s SymBioSE was my first time participating in a science symposium, and also my first time spending 10 days with students from different countries and cultures, and this for me was the highlight of that year! Not only because I learned a lot of new things in bio-related topics, but also because all the different conversations I had with Symbionts in different fields made me see the things differently by learning from their experiences and understanding that meeting new people and hearing their stories, can have such a big positive impact in the decisions you’ll take later (even if you barely notice this at first).

Apart from the presentations (which I loved), I think what I really liked were the discussions we had almost every night after dinner where we would gather in the dormitory yard (or sometimes someplace else) and shared our thoughts in different topics!

I’m so happy that students have an opportunity like SymBioSE and would highly recommend it to every biologist. Lots of love!
